Welcome to Institute of Good Ideas for Nigeria
Friends, I have read and seen threads, tweets and YouTube clips regarding the troubles with Nigeria. I am patriotic and wish Nigeria well. I have had the benefit of the country. Others I have grown up with have not had the same benefits. To whom much is given, much is expected. My wife suggested I seem to be leaving the solutions to others and withering on the sidelines. There is no monopoly of ideas and people I know all have ideas on how we can commence the necessary journey to salvation. To this end I suggest establishing an institute for Nigerian ideas, or think tank. The institute will seek to create a market place of ideas for day to day personal suggestions to government policies. Taking national, state and local governments' policies and putting them to tests and offering suggestions on best such policies can be better engineered and implemented. Linking places of thoughts, universities, NGOs, social networkers, beer parlours and others to the development and implementation of robustly challenged ideas into policies. The institute would be open to all and sundry. We will take best practices elsewhere and tailor them to our Nigerian circumstances and plant seeds of good, responsive governance. The institute will organise seminars, lectures, produce papers for discuss. We will engage all and sundry including social and economic groups. I will welcome any suggestions on how to set off on this journey to the mountain top. Hoping for your feedback and ideas. Many thanks.
